When I speak with authors they often tell me "I thought that writing was going to be the hard part." Writers do not prepare for the challenges that publishing, marketing, and coordinating throw at them. This, however, is not a comment that has ever been made to me by any writer that Zan Strumfeld has worked with. Her skillset blew me away at first glance, and I have continued to be almost starstruck by the professionalism and quality of her work ever since. Zan is a pleasure to work with and she powers through projects with efficiency and tact. Calling her a "Right-Hand Zan" only covers half of it.
We are honored to have Zan on our consulting team! Zan is not only a talented line editor, she is also quick, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Our authors at Acorn Publishing rave about Zan’s expertise! One of the best literary assistants we've encountered at Acorn Publishing. To say Zan has been my literary assistant during the publishing process of Flygirl would be a drastic understatement. Zan skillfully guided me through the brand development process, from creating my website from scratch to deftly establishing my social media presence on all platforms. Zan provided editing services, including a critical developmental review of my manuscript. Then, she almost single-handedly executed my book launch event vision, all while making sure my website was constantly refreshed. If that weren’t enough, Zan created my blog and newsletter templates, and ensures that I am in regular contact with my subscribers. I cannot say enough about her many talents, more of which I discover daily as we continue to work together. I am truly beyond impressed with this skilled, patient, communicative, and creative professional.
I've had the pleasure of working with Zan as a proofreader for several clients. She is easy to work with and extremely detailed in her edits. I highly recommend her for authors looking to catch all their last-round edits before publishing. She'll make sure your book is clean, beautiful, and ready to be shown to the world.
I recently published my first book and Zan helped me out with her amazing ability to see anything my editors, beta readers and I may have missed. I am often irritated when I read a book and find typos, etc, so when Zan was suggested by my publishers, I quickly agreed. I really thought she wouldn’t find anything, but she surely did. I was traveling at the time and we had some technical challenges, but she was patient and very responsive to my needs. She always returned my emails in a timely fashion and her patience with a new author was greatly appreciated. She followed through on her deadlines and kept me updated throughout the process. All in all, money well spent, and I will use Zan’s services for every book I write.
Zan Strumfeld did and excellent job proofreading my manuscript. She did such an outstanding job that two people who purchased the book with the stated intention of finding errors in the published version were both amazed that they could find only a few minor things to comment on. Outstanding results.
I am so grateful that I hired Zan to do a final eyes edit on my book Trudge: A Midlife Crisis on the John Muir Trail. I had gone over it so many times and already had it professionally edited twice, but I just wanted to make sure it was the best possible product it could be. I am so glad I took that last step. Zan made my book sparkle and found some things that I would have been very embarrassed about if I had published my book before she edited it. People who are reading it say how professionally edited and formatted it is and I truly know that makes a difference. So, if you want a stellar product I would without reservation suggest you hire Zan to help you out. She is prompt, courteous, easy to work with, and very supportive. Thanks to her and many others I have a book that I am proud of. |

"I kind of got thrown into starting this business, and it's been trial-and-error since Day One. I wish I'd been better prepared for how many errors I was going to make. And I wish I had a mentor who could've consulted me with client contracts, taxes, organizational tools and how to work full-time for yourself. While my business is less than a year old, it seems like I've had a lightning-speed crash course on how to greater assist myself to make things easier..." Read the rest here.
